Adult Spiced Hot Chocolate

Wine Pairing:


  • ⅔ cup cream
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 ounces Captain Morgan Rum
  • 2 ounces butterscotch schnapps
  • Sweetened whipped cream
  • 1 ounce grated dark chocolate


  1. In a medium-sized, heavy saucepan, combine cream, milk, dark chocolate, sugar and salt.  Heat on medium heat, whisking frequently.  Bring to a slight boil.  Remove from heat.
  2. Pour rum and schnapps equally into four glasses or mugs.  Add hot chocolate to each.
  3. Top with whipped cream and grated chocolate.
