A paleo (or paleolithic) diet advises eating only foods eaten by our early ancestors. The general principle mean eating 55% of daily calories from seafood and lean meat; 15% from each of fruits, vegetables, and nuts and seeds; and no dairy, almost no grains, no added salt, no added sugar
The diet is based on avoiding not just modern processed foods, but also the foods that humans began eating after the agriculture revolution when we changed from hunter/gatherers to an agrarian approach.
In general Paleo diet principles include diets that includes vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, roots, meat, organ meats; fruit-based oils such as olive oil, coconut oil and palm oil. The diet excludes all dairy products, grain-based foods, legumes, sugar, and processed or refined fats and carbohydrates.
